Commissioners deny CUP for new Verizon communication tower in county

Following an hour-long public hearing during their first meeting for the month of August last Tuesday, the Howard County Commissioners voted 2-1 to deny a conditional use permit (CUP) application for a new Verizon communication tower west of Cushing.
